Movie Summary
Ghost Rider is an action thriller directed by Mark Steven Johnson. The film is inspired by the Marvel Comics character with the same name. The film stars Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes and Peter Fonda. A sequel to the film titled Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance was released in 2012.The plot of Ghost Rider revolves around Johnny Blaze, a stunt biker who sells his soul to the Devil, Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda), as a teenager to save his father from cancer. Even though his father is saved as promised by Mephistopheles, he dies in an accident the very next day. Years later, Blaze, now a renowned stunt biker, meets his long-lost love Roxanne Simpson. Blaze and Simpson rekindle their relationship and start seeing a future with each other. Meanwhile, Mephistopheles’s wayward son, the demonic Blackheart (Wes Bentley), comes to Earth, along with his three fallen angels. Mephistopheles makes Blaze the new Ghost Rider and offers to give him his soul back if he defeats Blackheart. Blackheart takes Simpson captive and asks Blaze to give him the contract of San Venganza that would give him the power to bring Hell on Earth. To save the love of his life, Blaze has to give the contract to Blackheart, but giving the contract will destroy Earth. He is aided by Carter Slade, who was the Ghost Rider before him, in his quest. Ghost Rider (2007) was released in 2007 by Columbia Tristar in DVD format. It has a run time of 105 minutes. It is rated U/A and is in English with subtitles in English.
