A modestly made film that does not cease to astound audiences, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is undoubtedly one of India finest dark comedies. Vinod (Naseeruddin Shah) and Sudhir (Ravi Baswani) a photographer duo start a studio only to find things going wrong from its inception. Their photographic assignments lead them to expose shady facts about the city builders, municipal officers and others. The film reveals many evils through its hilarious style, which weaves into the film narrative, slapstick comedy, as well as epic (Mahabharata) episodes to incisive effect.
Hero (Salman Khan) loves Rani (Rani Mukerji), but she doesn’t. Hero, meanwhile, is a loyal worker at A-Z, a courier company helm ed by baddie Khanna (Shakti Kapoor). The man actually distributes drugs around the city, the Tough cop Inspector Vishal (Arbaaz Khan) arrives in the city and starts trailing Hero whom he suspects to be involved in the racket. But the poor unsuspecting Hero is innocent. So when he stumbles upon the truth, Khanna has him bumped off. At the same time, he manages to shoot Vishal in the heart. A heart transplant takes place and Hero’s heart is given to Vishal. Hero’s spirit comes back to avenge his death, but only Vishal can see him. Since Hero’s heart beats for Rani, it is only natural for Vishal to fall in love with Rani. And fortunately, she too falls in love with him. It’s a sunny day in Agra. People are getting ready to head off to work while tourists are lining up at the Taj mahal. But outside Taj Mahal, the atmosphere is different.Tukaram Marathe, his wife Sundari and their daughter have laid claim to the land on which Taj Mahal stands. Tukaram says the land belonged to his ancestors and demands it back. His claim is relayed by the media and this puts the authorities in action. The jail minister Visarjan Yadav is sent to sort things out but he ends up making matters worse. Tukaram and Sundari refuse to back down and sit on a hunger strike on the Yamuna plains.Repeated attempts from Yadav and the Chief Minister yield no results and the case goes to court. Here, Tukaram is asked to present proof of his claim. He presents letters from Emperors Humayun and Akbar addressed to his ancestors and after testing, it appears that the letters are authentic.
