Movie Summary
Gloria is the young, attractive wife of a bullfighter with a bright future. She's got everything she needs to be happy. But Juan is stuck by a bull's horn, leaving him in a deep coma, nothing more than a living corpse. Gloria turns to drink and leaves for Mexico to escape the misery of life in an apartment for which she can't keep up the mortgage payments. An alcoholic, she earns her drinking money as a prostitute. Unwittingly, she gets mixed up in some dirty business between Mexican gangsters and undercover agents of the D. E. A. She gets kicked out of Mexico and must go to Madrid and face her past. The Mexican crime ring dispatches Eduardo, a professional killer with conscience problems, to take care of her. In her fight against misery and death, Gloria has only one ally - Dona Julia, her mother-in-law, an extraordinary woman, the mother Gloria never had. Dona Julia manages to help Gloria find her dignity and hope.
